Refurbishment works at Killiney Ancient Church – Cill Iníon Léinín

The ornate gothic arch and a section of the boundary wall was dismantled stone by stone, after each stone was carefully numbered by the skilled stonemasons. A trench was excavated to sink a concrete foundation for the repaired wall, and the wall was re-assembled stone by stone.Read More

On Saturday 27th April 2024 An Cathaoirleach Denis O’Callaghan unveiled a memorial bench at Killiney Beach in honour of Louie Bennett. Killiney Historical Society were present to record this occasion and are pleased to present this video of the event which celebrated the life and achievements of Killiney resident Louie Bennett (1870-1956).Read More

John’s talk concentrates on the highly ambitious plans to develop a ‘new town’ of over 180 dwellings on Killiney Hill in 1840.
