Killiney Hill Park

The recent opening of the upgraded entrance to Killiney Hill Park prompted us to delve into the history of the park and to record here the other milestones which form the early history of the hill and surrounding district, in particular the official opening of Victoria Park (as it was then known) in 1887.

Glenalua Lodge

The earliest reference to this property appears on the 1843 Ordnance Survey map where the house is called Derrynane Lodge. The exact date of the erection of the house is unknown but it was one of the first significant residences to be built on Glenalua Road
