On Saturday 27th April 2024 An Cathaoirleach Denis O’Callaghan unveiled a memorial bench at Killiney Beach in honour of Louie Bennett. Killiney Historical Society were present to record this occasion and are pleased to present this video of the event which celebrated the life and achievements of Killiney resident Louie Bennett (1870-1956).Read More

There were many individual acts of heroism that went away beyond the call of duty owed to others and one such deed was carried out on September 25th 1868 on Killiney Strand near Dublin by a man who would eventually become the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Edmund Dwyer Gray, 1845-1888.Read More
